This was a team challenge to earn blocks.
Blocks were particular emotions that the teams needed to
demonstrate to a panel of judges. The blocks that the
teams had to deal with at any given time were love, joy,
regret, anxiety, hope, guilt, anger, trust, and
gratitude. The way they earned a block was for the
team or a team member to enter a room and demonstrate an
emotion to the judges. After the presentation, the panel
gave a judgment of whether or not they truly felt that
emotion the presenter(s) were attempting to convey.
The goal was to challenge
students to be authentic and genuine. Particularly when
expressing and showing emotion, the students were asked
to come from a place of being authentic and genuine.
Students understood that leadership is about showing not
only their greatness but also their weaknesses as those
are the people we learn from most. |
